About the Apothecary

By the Moonlight Apothecary—Elixirs & Potions began last summer in my kitchen. I started distilling fresh lavender flowers at home to create small-batch lavender essential oil and hydrosol. I use my home-distilled oils to craft rollerball perfumes, and my hydrosol becomes the heart of my facial elixirs and doggie elixirs. I also handmake cold-process soaps with premium essential oils and natural ingredients, hand pour soy wax candles, and blend lavender hand sanitizer and soothing skin salves. Along with the doogie hydrosol elixir, I have also created a few other doggie spa items including a gentle shampoo and hydrating toe bean potion. 

Inspired by old-world apothecaries and the Appalachian tradition of folks distilling moonshine “by the moonlight,” I’m distilling something sweeter—beautiful lavender blooms into gentle elixirs, potions and everyday luxuries. I truly hope you enjoy my handmade apothecaries.
